Right wheel drive...?

...we at SHG would beg to differ. Though no matter what wheels are being driven there is no denying the presents and timeless design these cars have. They are both cars that everyone hopes to own at some point in their life.

My cup of tea

Quite the nice looking Honda we have here. I must say its perfect in my eyes and its probably my favorite color that wasn't offered in the EG from factory. Height wise it looks great and is suited for the street or track. Now this is a proper stance ladies and gentlemen. Wheels that actually fit and can be driven on without being a hassle. The right combination of subtle aero parts. A car in which its presence brings a good feeling to on lookers. This is my cup of tea!

Mugen ITR

Tough!

Showing some love for the red headed step child

It seems as though the FN2R is one of those forgotten about, and unloved Type R's. Perhaps its because it started out as a Euro only model, but there is never much discussion about this little gem. No, its is not the fastest R out there, but it has a very distinct Euro flavor that is unique to this Civic. Here are just a few examples of the FN2 in various trims.

FD2 One Make Race cup final

Exciting final race at Fuji Speedway between built Civic Type Rs. The nice part about this type of racing is that the base car is the same so you end up with very competitive cars which translates to heated battles all across the field.

Arvou S2000

Heres a small tuning shop you don't hear much of. Arvou is located in Tochigi, Japan and have been around since 1985. They specialize primarily in S2000s and Lotus Elise/Exiges. They offer many parts from coilovers to exhaust systems and services such as maintenance and parts installation.

Their shop car, an ITB'd S2000, has a maximum output of 296PS and laps Tsukuba in 1:04.010. The RE30s look great on this car and just fills the wheel wells nicely with the 265/35/18 size tires.

If you would like to see more, be sure to check out VTEC Club Vol 6 for track footage.

Heres a little bonus drawing from back in the day known as the doodle. See if you can find all the elements!

More Inspiration

A while back I had posted a batch of pictures of the J's Fit and titled it Inspiration. Being a 8th Civic owner, The Evasive Civic holds a special place for me and provides inspiration to keep tuning my own car. The car is tuned in very much the same way I have planned out for my own car. Simple yet effective modifications to improve the speed and enjoyment of the car, all while driving it day in and day out.

DC5 vs DC2 vs EK9

A nice comparison between the Civic R and Integra R models on the Ebisu East course. The handling on these cars are all pretty similar in the grand scheme of things so the biggest differences between them are the engines.

So which will it be? The rev happy B16B, legendary B18C or the almighty K20A?
